Join us for a quintessentially British event. A Rambunctious, raucous and rowdy panegyric presentation of the mesmerisingly monumentally mediocre ministrations of the Music Hall! (Ooh)
The Victorian Music Hall was a rich and fertile ground for performers of the day. Comedy sketches, melodramatic moments and, of course, singalongs were very popular amongst all social classes, making the music halls a great social leveller, but also, due to their creative ways of getting around censorship laws, quite controversial.
With our chairman, and star lady, we shall present three mini music halls, featuring songs, sketches and the dreaded audience participation! Interspersed with a dash of history (or perhaps gin) on the rise and legacy of the music halls, as well as the great stars of the day like Marie Lloyd and George Leyburn.
